Jalene is not only an entertainment attorney but this industry renaissance woman and ARTivist has successfully integrated the roles of TV & Film producer, writer, actress, playwright, and author of The Business of Stage, Screen & in Between, Entertainment Attorney Jalene Mack’s Practical Advice for Performers, Playwrights & Producers and many other e-books by keeping the focus on her long-term goal “to make an impact on the entertainment industry.”

Jalene received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science with a minor in Mass Communications from Xavier University of New Orleans in 1990. She received her Juris Doctorate from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University in 1993 and was admitted to the bar thereafter. She has recently joined University of Houston as an adjunct professor to help launch its new film certificate program where she will teach graduate students about law and finance in film production in the Fall.

Beginning her career as a music attorney initially, the last 32 years she has expanded her expertise in the film business, and remains passionate about using her legal and business skills to support various creatives to further their Arts & Entertainment business. From her base in Houston, she has expanded her reach into the film centers such as Las Vegas, NV, Miami, FL, Atlanta, GA, Los Angeles, CA, New York, NY, Chicago, IL, Baltimore, MD, New Orleans, L.A., the U.K., ITA and the UAE. Ms. Mack’s legal skills in Arts & Entertainment include a wide range of matters regarding Film & Television (scripted and unscripted) from development through distribution, Theater, Music, Books, Federal Trademark & Copyright Registration and more.  Jalene has served as either Producer or Production Attorney on over 50 or more films and TV series.

A few clients, former or present, include Steve Harvey, Tommy Davidson, Rushion McDonald, Kim Burrell, Jordan Welch, AJ Johnson, Kiana Dancie, LeToya Luckett, Isaiah Washington, Thomas “Nephew Tommy” Miles, Kenny Smith, Carl Payne, Greg Carter, Datari Turner, Courtney Glaude, Jilly Anais, La La Milan, Jasmin Brown to name just a few. In addition, she’s compiled a long list of acting credits in over 60 productions including Better Call Saul, Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and AllBLK’s Houston drama 5th Ward, a hit television series of two seasons.

For her work with the youth, contributions to the arts, law and the community, she has been honored with the President Barak Joe Biden Lifetime Achievement Award, President Barak Obama Lifetime Achievement Award, Top 30 Influential Women of Houston Award, Houston Lawyers Association, Matthew W. Plummer, Sr. Justice Award, Attorney of the Year Black Excellence Awards, and recognized as one of 40 Influential Women of 2020 by Los Angeles Wire Business Edition to name a few. She is also a proud member of many national organizations but most dear to her is Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
